With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Katie Howes (Elkins, West Virginia), who passed away on February 25, 2025 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred W. Elmore and Gladys Cutright Elmore; her son Roy A. Howes, Jr.; and her siblings, Harley, Bill, John, Carl, Ray, Bobby Neal Elmore, Sr., Lorraine Wolfe, Loretta Phillips, Willa Mae "Shorty" Bibey, Shirley Bodkin and Rosalie Miller.
She is survived by: her children, Mark A. Howes (Joan) of Belington, Michael W. Howes of Beverly, Victoria D. Howes of Kingsville, WV and Cynthia L. Fletcher (Lee) of Kingsville, WV; her sisters, Jeanie Merritt of Beverly and Joy Bender of Kingsville, WV.; her grandchild Ashley Howes Barker (Brad); and her great grandchildren, Donovan Howes, Jaxson Murray, Dylan II, Sylas Fletcher, Mylah Fletcher and Myles Moreland.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Tomblyn Funeral Home (45 Randolph Ave, Elkins, WV 26241). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
