We are sad to announce that on November 9, 2022, at the age of 85, George A. Rao (Elkins, West Virginia), born in Brooklyn, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, George Joseph and Helen DeFreitas Rao; his son Stephen Michael Rao; and his siblings, Robert Rao and Lillian Remsen.

He is survived by: his wife Virginia "Ginger" Godwin; his sons, Christopher Joseph Rao (Kimberly) of Dunmore and Anthony George Rao (Marie) of Petersburg; his brother Thomas Rao (Lorraine) of Long Island, NY; and his grandchildren, Cassidy Ellen Rao (Matthew Tomassone) of Winchester, VA, Matthew Joseph Rao (Morgan Keck) of Marlinton and Rebecca Anne Rao of Petersburg. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
