She was predeceased by: her parents, Kelly Gillespie and Ethel Amburn Gillespie; and her siblings, Bobby Gillespie, Margaret Brumfield and Theda Brumfield.
She is survived by: her children, Ronald Carter (Penny) of Elkins and Regina Blankenship of Beckley; her sister Shirley Hall of Big Sandy; her grandchildren, William Chester Blankenship III, Samantha Dawn Blankenship and Chance Michael Carter; and her great grandchild Clay Michael Carter.
