She was predeceased by: her parents, Lena Pearl (Sharpless) and George Scott Pugh; her husband Howard Marshall "Huck" Dawson; her children, David Dawson, James "Jimmy" Dawson, Shirley Lynn Dunithan and Delores Andrews; her siblings, Kenneth Buck Knotts, Yvonne David and Donetta Beall; and her great grandchild Alexis Iser.
She is survived by: her daughters, Marlene D. Lucas (Gary) and Louise Burger; her sister Wanitta Waybright; and her son-in-law Melvin "Gene" Dunithan. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
