He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Johnny Gooslin and Eunice Gooslin (Stump); his siblings, Linda Kaye Butcher, Libby Wolford, Pauline May, Loretta Fields and Johnny "Buddy" Gooslin; and his nephews, Brian May and Johnny Gooslin.

He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Ann; his daughters, Tonya Smith and Megan Daniels; his grandson Caden James Smith; his sisters, Darlene Dotson, Pat Mayhorn, Joan Key and Brenda Holland; his niece Brandy Sturgeon; his nephew Jackie Sturgeon; and his close friends, Danny "Cowboy", Alice Lowe and Brandon Wolford. He is also survived by friends and neighbors.
