He was predeceased by: his son Johnathon Taylor; his father Leon Taylor; and his grandparents, Willard, Mary Jane Francis, Garland and Lucille Taylor.

He is survived by: his wife Marlena Faye Taylor; his son Matthew Taylor (Kandace) of Huntington, W. V; his stepchild Harmony McDonie (Cory) of Ona, W. V; his grandchildren, Johnathon Taylor, Charley McDonie, Jackson McDonie and Dottie McDonie; his mother Martha Jewel Taylor of East Lynn; and his siblings, Debbie Miller (Greg) of Tex, Felicia Hale (Jeff) of East Lynn, Mary Ritter (Mark) of East Lynn, Brandi Taylor of Tex, Tonya Mills of Prichard, W. V and Rick Stapleton (Patty) of East Lynn. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
