He was predeceased by: his parents, James Painter and Mildred Painter (Evelyn) of Charleston. He is survived by: his brother Ronald of Missouri; his children, Carolyn Stricklen (Danny) of Ohio, Terri Reid (Bill) of Dunbar and Richard II (Robin) of Florida; his grandchildren, Donna Reid, Stephen Reid (Stacey), Kathy Stricklen Berry (Ken) and Rachel Painter Marshall (John); and his great grandchildren, Kenton Berry, Samantha Reid, Caleb Marshall and Graham Marshall.
Due to the current COVID pandemic, a memorial service will be held at some time in the future.
