He was predeceased by: his parents, Maggie Lawhorn Adkins and Ancil Adkins; his wife Dolly Belcher Adkins; his daughter Rebecca Adkins; and his siblings, Clarence, Frank, Richard Adkins, Eileen Roof, Sue Badgley and Helen Lewis.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Adkins Skipper (Albert) of Wilmington, NC, David Adkins (Susan) and Roger Adkins (late Joyce) of Dunbar; his grandchildren, Rachael Adkins of Dunbar, Sandra Adkins (Dan) of Houston, TX, Ashley Pauley of Charleston and Sean Adkins of Dunbar; his siblings, Larry of Aiken, SC and Barbara Dailey of Hemet, California; and his friend Howard King (Debbie) of Nitro. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
