He was predeceased by: his siblings, Walt, Henry, Robert, Danny, Betty Perkins and Bess Herndon; and his grandson Shaun Mallett.
He is survived by: his wife Willie; his children, Diane Samples, Lori Mallett (Mike), Toni Smith (Bill) and Jay Asbury (Donna) of Doug Spry; his sister Delores Brown (Gale); his sister-in-law Eveline Hintz; his grandchildren, Rene Stilwell (Scott), Matt Spry and Jason Spry; his brothers, Sarah Chapman, Stacie Spurlock (Gary), Trey Hintz, Stephen Smith and Christopher Smith; and also Amber Asbury. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren with one on the way, and a host of nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, National Headquarters, 225 N. Michigan Ave., FL. 17, Chicago IL 60601, in memory of Willie Hintz.
