He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Walker and Goldie Walker; his wife Molly Walker; his son Timmy Walker; his daughter-in-law Connie Walker; and his grandson Michael David.
He is survived by: his children, Diana Johnson of South Charleston, Dreama Taylor (Scott) of St. Albans, Roger Walker of St. Albans, Michael Walker (Denise) of Greeley, CO and James Walker Jr. (Mandy) of St. Albans; his stepchildren, Steve Wilson of St. Albans and Vivian Murdock of Cross Lanes; and his grandchildren, Ashley Johnson (Shane) of St. Albans, Brandon (Casey) and Brian Chandler. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
