He was predeceased by: his son Anthony Darren; his parents, Howard Smith and Eunice Smith; and his sisters, Eloise Leonard (Eugene), Corky Bailey (Guy) and Betty Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Joanna Foster Smith; his children, Sean of Charleston and Cindi Settle (Aaron) of St. Albans; and his brother Darest (Brenda) of Hurricane. He is also survived by five grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
