He was predeceased by: his daughter Daphne Dean; his parents, Matt Young and Lilly Hively Young; and his siblings, Doris Strickland, Reverend Delmar Young and Darrell Young.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Crank Young; his daughters, Vicky Young Foster (Paul) of Beckley and Jessica Young Chandler (David) of Winfield; his son-in-law David Dean of Charleston; his grandchildren, Matthew Dean (Megan) of Cincinnati and Noah Chandler; his great grandchild Hudson Dean; and his sisters, Geraldine Nida of Home, Fla Harmon and Lorene Harmon of Arden, NC..
