He is survived by: his grandchild Rodjae "Aubree"; his children, Brian (Kim) of Martinsburg and Jessica of Dunbar; his grandchildren, Jamil, Satchel, Sidney Crockett, Rodjae Hairston and Jessika Aubree Hairston; and his siblings, Colin Deakins (Shirley), Andrew "Benét", Thomas, David (Gloria), Bruce, Craig, Jacqueline Kellum (Richard), Celestine, Pamela Denise, Tammy Campbell (Frank) and Myra.
