It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Roy Metheney of Duck, West Virginia, who passed away on March 7, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arley Metheney and Mamie Tanner Metheney; his wife Mary Agnes Metheney; and his siblings, Dale Metheney, Orville Gene Metheney and Eultheen Jarvis.

He is survived by: his siblings, Daris Metheney (Jobby) of Preston, Ohio, Doy Metheney of Chloe, WV, Troxal Metheney of Chloe, WV, James Metheney (Jim) of Chloe, WV, Timmy Dean Metheney of Chloe, WV, Louise Boggs of Chloe, WV and Tama Jarvis of Chloe, WV; his stepchildren, Ronald Stricklen of Walton, WV and Lavonne Barnhouse of Clendenin, WV; and his close friends, Jason Garrett, Amber and Ty. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Stump-Matics Funeral Home (8539 Elk River Rd, Clendenin, WV 25045).
