He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy E. Mongold, Sr. and Janet Mae Mongold (Sites); his wife Alice Mongold (Carpenter); and his granddaughter Talia Mongold. He is survived by: his sons, Gary A. Mongold (Connie Miller) of Dorcas, WV, Jeffrey A. Mongold of Dorcas, WV and Mark A. Mongold (Kristi) of Dorcas, WV; his grandchildren, Brooke Mongold Nicely (Jason), Jordan Mongold (Victoria), Joshua Mongold (Cassandra), Jonathan Mongold (Megan) and Matthew Mongold (Kelsey); his pet Peaches; and his siblings, Janet Sue Swisher of Austin, Texas and Guy E. Mongold, Jr. of Ellicott City, MD. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren.
