Grady touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Washington Pennington and Willie Florence Allen; his wife Margaret Pennington; and his son-in-law Kearns Combs. He is survived by: his children, Genia Helton (Danny), Kathy Patierno (Michael), Patsy Combs, Jackie Neace (Larry) and Michael Pennington (Evelyn); and his grandchildren, Stephanie Reynolds (Jon), Rebekkah Burkett (Charlie), Patrick Napier, Mika Snider (Trevor), Kim Combs, Dr. Jason Roberts (Christy), Grady Todd Roberts, Margaret Nicole Jones (Joey), Velva Pennington (Boo Nelson), Mikaleah Alley (Steven) and Michael Pennington (Tommie). He is also survived by 24 great grandchildren; 4 great, great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Freeman Funeral Home, Inc. (220 Main St, Chapmanville, WV 25508). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
