Guy McCourt Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Guy McCourt of Diana, West Virginia, who passed away on April 11, 2025, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Freeman and Betty Lou McCourt (Fornash); his daughter Lora Lou Simms; and his siblings, Buck, Shannon McCourt and Nada Cochran.

He is survived by: his wife Lorna McCourt (Hamrick); his children, Wendy McCourt (Carl Cowger), Misty Carpenter (Larry), Dolly McCourt, Guy Madison McCourt II (Theresa) and Joejames Travis McCourt (Jessica); his son-in-law Christopher Paul Simms; his grandchildren, Annette Carpenter, Tinina McCourt (Casey Sizemore), Christopher Robert Simms, Donly Carpenter (Jason Rakers), Abbigail Carpenter, Guy Madison McCourt III (Shaylynn), Morgan Carpenter, Lorna Ray, Dakoda Carpenter and Madyson Carpenter; his great grandchildren, Taj Feldscher, Zoey Rakers and Bentley Rakers; and his siblings, Bill McCourt (Sally), Chris McCourt (Brenda), Sue Ellen Badmaev (Ron White), Nellie Knight (Malvin) and Marquita Ridgeway (Paul). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A graveside service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Harrison Cochran Cemetery.
