We are sad to announce that on April 3, 2023, at the age of 78, Shelby Jean Cox of Davy, West Virginia, born in Big Sandy, West Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Julius Blankenship and Mandy Mullins Blankenship; her son James Henry Cooley, Jr.; her former husband James Henry Cooley, Sr.; her husband Wilburn Ray Cox, Sr.; and her siblings, Herman, Earl, Reverend Douglas Blankenship and Helen Kennedy.

She is survived by: her daughter Delana Cooley; her granddaughter Jamie Cooley Carraway; her sibling Branch (Lex Cantrell); her grandson Randall Frasher; and her siblings, Bob Blankenship of Canton, Ohio and Carol Lester of Catawba. She is also survived by several stepbrothers, stepsisters, nieces, and nephews.
