He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Shaffer and Oakareda "Poodle" Shaffer; his grandson Bentley; and his siblings, Betty Lou Cogan (Shaffer) and Dennis Carlton Shaffer.
He is survived by: his wife Pamela K. Shaffer; his children, Bryan D. Shaffer and Brandi D. Shaffer Blythe (Matthew); and his grandchildren, Bryson Shaffer, Brielle Shaffer, Brayden Shaffer, Brooklyn Blythe and Jett Maxwell Blythe.
