He was predeceased by: his parents, Orie Carter and Marjorie McDowell (Good); his children, Mary Susan McDowell and Matthew Alan McDowell; his granddaughter Virginia "Lori" McDowell; his daughter-in-law Catherine McDowell; and his sister Barbara June Hinkle.
He is survived by: his wife Rebecca J. McDowell; his sons, Jeffrey Carter McDowell (Sandy), Richard Lynn McDowell and David Kirk McDowell (LuAnn); his grandchildren, Joshua, Susan, Michael, Riley, Miranda, Lydia and Lea; his great grandchildren, Evan, Andrew, Jacquelin, Carter, Jillian, Liam and Amelia; and his daughter-in-law Edie McDowell.
Viewing was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home (567 Thomas Ave, Davis, WV 26260). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
