He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Beckman and Margaret Beckman (Friend); his wife Dorothy "Dottie" Beckman (Friend); his siblings, Mildred Harvey (Paul) and Tryphina Beckman; his brother-in-law Harold G. Friend; his nephews, Sherman Harvey and Randall Friend; and his niece Carolyn Friend.

He is survived by: his sons, Melvin Leslie Beckman (Tracy) of Adams, TN and Andrew Scott Beckman of North Glade; his grandson Anthony W. Beckman (Melina) of Adams, TN; his great grandchild Alex "Beeps" Beckman; his siblings, Marvin E. Beckman (Ruth Ann) of North Glade and Margaret "Peggy" (Beckman); and his nephews, Simon Harvey and Stuart Harvey.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Swanton United Otterbein Church.
