With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gladys Cora Evans in Davis, West Virginia, born in Elkins, West Virginia, who passed away on September 15, 2021 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford Long Parsons, Sr. and Lydia Ett Knecht Sowers; and her husband Robert Clyde Evans, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Robert C. Evans, Jr. of Montrose, Chris Gear (Charles) of Elkins, Brenda Schmidlen of Elkins and Lavonne Hamrick (Richie) of Montrose; her sister Melda Callender of Bel Air, MD.; her half-siblings, Carl Parsons of Brandywine, WV, Daryl, James Parsons of Oakland, MD, Ira Parsons of Laurel, MD, Nora Parsons of Oakland, MD and Debbie Tippen of Oakland, MD; and her sister-in-law Celcia Parsons of West Minister, MD.. She is also survived by Eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.
Masks and social distancing will be required for anyone attending the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Mrs. Evans.
