He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Schelling and Laura Widger Schelling; and his sister Janice Freese (J. Ricky Hough). He is survived by: his wife Joan Hough Schelling; his sons, Harold and Tom Schelling; his stepchildren, David Hough, Karen Hough Croll and P. J. Hough; his grandchildren, Alexander and Vivian Schelling; and his stepgrandsons, P. Jason Hough and Michael Hough. He is also survived by six step grandchildren.
