He was predeceased by: his parent Tilden James; his son Kenneth "Bub" Lester; his siblings, Bonnie R. Harper, Ernestine Browning, Martha Callentine, Betty Hall, June Brumfield, James "Hot Rod" Lester, Okey A. Lester and Kermit Lester; his half-siblings, Inez Lester, Robert Lester, Mayo Lester and Clay Lester; his parents-in-law, Leonard and Vicie Ellis; and his siblings-in-law, Anna Jean Porter, Leonard "Buddy" Ellis, Jr., Patricia "Patty" Ellis, Thurman Ellis, Jackie Pete Adkins and Robert "Bob" Sutton.
He is survived by: his wife Pauline Lester (Ellis); his daughter Balinda Summers of Davin; his grandchildren, Haleigh Lester, Kenley Lester and Samuel Owen Summers; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Adkins, Linda Ellis Bailey, Yvonne Sutton, Rev. Paul, Judy Ellis, Rev. Johnny and Naomi Hatfield. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins along with a host of other relatives, church family, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Davin Baptist Church. A celebration of life was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. The military honors was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 3:15 PM to 3:30 PM at the Highland Memory Gardens (5654 Old Logan Rd, Logan, WV 25601).
