He was predeceased by: his parents, Thurmond Nelson and Verna Thompson; his grandparents, Chester Walls, Nona Spears, Owen Nelson and Minnie Nelson; and his brothers, Johnny Lowell, Darrell and Maxwell Nelson.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Nelson; his children, Pamela Broughton (Mark), Rebecca Nelson, Bill Nelson (Mary) and Mark Nelson; his siblings, Joyce Cole, Mary Bolen, Diana Putnam, Tommy Nelson (Sue), James Nelson (Phyllis), Terry Nelson (Betty) and Dean Thompson (Nancy); his grandchildren, Kimberly Thompson (Brent), Jason Broughton, Kayla Nelson (Howie), Sarah Fowler (Timothy), Joshua Nelson (Brittany), Hollie Morton (Tommy), Rob Johnson and Olivia Nelson; and his great grandchildren, Daniel, Kaitlyn Thompson, Haylee, Blake Broughton, Isaiah, Chase Fowler, Nathaniel Lafferty, Sophia Phelps, Elijah, Sawyer Nelson and Kenslie Morton.
