He is survived by: his wife Lillian Kay Thurmond (Gibson); his daughters, Gina Cornell (Mark) and Christy Dickens (Brian) of New Smyrna Beach, FL; his grandchildren, Kasey Ratliff, John Richard Ratliff (Ashley) of Ripley, WV, Chelsea Wilson (Chris) of Clayton, NC, Brianna Dickens (Ashlee) of DeLeon Springs, FL and Nicholas Cornell (Lacey) of Foster, WV; his great grandchildren, Gavon Hamon, Greyson Ratliff, Stella Herr, Braylea Cornell, Sam Herr, Gabe Cornell, Birch Wilson and Sterling Ratliff; his siblings, Diane Lyons (Carl), Donna Kassan (Jim) of York, SC and Rodney Thurmond (Dee) of Barrett, WV; his sister-in-law Mary Beth Gibson of Van, WV; and his friend Emmett Glenn Golden (Tammy) of Morristown, TN.. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
