He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac Thompson and Winnie Haga Thompson; and his siblings, Bruce, Nancy and Carol.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Mae Walker Thompson; his sons, David (Linda) of Sumter, SC, Dewayne (Frances) and Chris (Cortland) of Moncove Lake, WV.; his brothers, Russell (Loraine) of Alexandria, VA and Charles "Bud" (JoAnn) of Mullens, WV.; his grandchildren, Amanda, Ashton and Kathleen; and his great grandchildren, Adria, Adaline, Abbie, Ty, Jacob, Benjamin and Scarlet.
