He was predeceased by: his parents, Ugal Critchley and Maggie Fleshman Critchley; and his sister Della Mae "Sissy" Critchley. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Critchley; his children, Beckie Kessler (Danny), Angie Vance (John), Trishia Cozart (Art), Mark Winters (Joy), William Ballenger (Loretta), Jerry Ballenger (Kelli) and Vernon Nicholas Critchley (Misty); his siblings, Darrell Critchley (Jenny), Joseph Critchley (Debbie), Jerry Dean Critchley, Faye Gipson (Dan) and Jean Ballenger (Don); and his grandchildren, Curtis, Dan, Aliya, Wesley, Jacob, Shane, Savannah, Hannah, Autumn, Mary, Tori, Destiny, Anastasia, Sandra Sue, Lexi, Tyler of Ian, L. J., Brooklyn, Nicholas, Kinsley, Gage, Alyssa and Ethan. He is also survived by several great grandchildren; host of extended family.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rainelle Chapel (283 Main St, Rainelle, WV 25962). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
