He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Sheppard and Ethel Sheppard (Hanna); and his siblings, Gene, James, Clarence "Bud" Sheppard and Virginia Legg.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Kellison Sheppard; his daughter Janet Sheppard of Keiffer; and his siblings, Calvin Sheppard of Meadow Bridge, Curtis Sheppard of Laurel Fork, VA, Mary Wylie of Williamsburg and Vanda Sheppard of Georgia.
