She was predeceased by: her parents, Hubert Blackwell and Gladys Mann Blackwell; the father of her children Mason Griffith; her former husband Irvin Massey; and her sisters, Retha Hedgecock (Eugene), Nellie McGhee (Henry) and Joyce Ballard (George).
She is survived by: her husband Rev. Robert Mattox; her daughters, Jenny Phillips (Terry) of Sevierville, TN and Lisa Stewart (Brad) of Goose Creek, SC; her grandchildren, Maddie of Goose Creek, SC and Mason Stewart of Goose Creek, SC; and her siblings, Wanda Archer (late Bob) of Easton, MD, Robert Blackwell (Sally) of Lakeland, FL, John Blackwell (Judy) of Beckley and Sam of Austin, TX. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bowers Hospice House at 454 Cranberry Dr., Beckley, WV 25801.
