He is survived by: his wife Susan Beavers Adkins; his children, Adam Hatcher (Robin) and Laura Coalson (Brent); his grandchildren, Adam, Kaleb, Carter, Judah and Clara; his siblings, Patty Hickman and Greg Adkins (Rhonda); and also Larry. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
