He was predeceased by: his parents, William O. Self and Ruth Self (Queen); his daughter Sharon Short; his grandson George William (Short Jr.); and his siblings, Patricia Deen and Frank Self.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Powers (Rick) of Alum Bridge, WV, Jeanie Self (Danny) of Williamstown, WV, Shirley Weaver (Donald) of Cox's Mills, Kenny Self (Tina) of Cox's Mills and Roger Self of Cox's Mills; his grandchildren, Greg Self (Crystal), Billy Weaver, Donald Weaver, Brian Self, Matthew Self, Samantha Helmick, Dylon Helmick (Whitney), Eldon Short (Brianna) and Josh Short (Nikki); his great grandchildren, Hailey Short, Harper Short, Kensley Helmick and Owen Weaver; his siblings, Phyllis Bowie of Akron, OH, Dave Self (Ann) of Arnoldsburg, WV, Mary Cottrill of Elizabeth, WV and Connie Patterson (Jerry) of Elizabeth; and his son-in-law George Short of Troy, WV. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
