He is survived by: his wife Helen Carpenter (Dempsey); his children, Jennifer Carpenter of Ohio, Jeromy Carpenter of Cowen and Rodney Travis of Cowen; his sister Elene Wells of Florida; his nephew Mathew Carpenter of Craigsville; and his niece Chrissy Carpenter of Florida.
