She was predeceased by: her parents, Quinton Johnston and Helen Johnston (McDonald); her son Douglas Walter Shelton, Jr.; and her siblings, Chad Johnston, Delilah Smith and Mary Smith.

She is survived by: her husband Darrell Dunford; her children, Jackie Aurand (Jay) of Kansas, Vickie Acord (Larry) of Glen Fork, David Dunford (Melissa) of North Carolina and Darren Dunford of Beckley; her grandchildren, Tanya Stangel (Cory) of Pineville, Diedre Stout (Seth) of Kansas, Tara Farley (Nathan) of Tennessee, Douglas Shelton (Courtney) of Green Camp, WV and Dustin Dunford of Beckley; her great grandchildren, Amidy, Tucker, Embir, Silvia and Ima Jean; and her siblings, Goldie Steele (Robert) of Millcreek, Monica Huffman (Darrell) of Millcreek, Carol Workman of North Carolina, Dot Hopson (Scotty) of Briar Creek, Quinton Johnston (Patricia) of North Carolina, Alan Johnston (Janet) of Millcreek, Jim Johnston (Rita Arlene) of Millcreek, Earnest Johnston of Millcreek and Roy Johnston (Alicia) of New Richmond. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
