He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles O. Welshans and Elsie Brown Welshans; his siblings, Charles, Bill, Jack, Chester, Betty, Catherine, Wanda, Ida Mae and Virginia; his wife Nina Lorenzo Welshans; and his parents-in-law, Ignacio and Julia Suarez Lorenzo.
He is survived by: his children, Stevie Lorenzo Welshans, Julia L. Hubbard, D. J. and Joseph; his sisters, Judith Nice and Patricia McGaughey; his children, Fred Welshans, Jr., Chris E. Welshans, Scot D. Welshans, Sr. (Anna Marie) and Tina R. Bedner (Eugene); his grandchildren, Edward, Nicole, Scot (April), Danielle (Chris), Alexandra and Gabrielle; and his great grandchildren, Owen and Olivia Nina. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
