He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Garland and Rev. Veatrice Staton; his daughter Barbara "Bobbie" Staton; and his brothers, Johnny, Ronnie and Edward Staton.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lori Michele Dameron (Mark) of Princeton, WV, Kimberly Deneise Browning (Calvin) of Sumter, SC, Shanda Rae Lester (Scott) of Pineville, WV and Patricia Ann "Sissy" Thompson; his grandchildren, Ashlee Brianne Browning, Austin Wade Browning, Dalton Ray Lester, Hunter Scott Lester, Wyatt Jayson Lester, Tanner Wesson Lester and Jaxon Thomas Lester; his stepgrandchildren, Colby Marc Dameron and Santana Rae Dillon; and his siblings, Morris Staton (Sue), Garland Jr. Staton (Sheila), Gary Staton (late Teresa), Larry Paul Staton (Cindy), Virginia Sue Lynn (late Robert), Linda Lou Staton-West, Priscilla Ann Stewart (late Rick) and Naomi Ruth Staton.
