She was predeceased by: her parents, James Clyde Bower and Leila Jane Lilly Bower; and her brothers, Von and Clyde Bower. She is survived by: her husband Jack; her son Jackie Thomas; her daughter-in-law Beverly Thomas; her daughter Janie T. Slaughter; her son-in-law Tom Slaughter; her granddaughters, Kelli Wilburn (Gerald) and April Smith (George); her great grandchildren, Ty Wilburn, Eli Wilson, Lincoln Smith, Jada Wilburn and Leila Smith; her sister Barbara Helvey; and her brothers-in-law, Vernon (Nora Faye Keen) and Eddie of Christiansburg. She is also survived by Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Bowers Hospice or to a charitable organization of the donor's choice.
