With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rickie Charles Coalson of Coal City, West Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 11, 2025 at the age of 67. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles William Coalson, Jr. and Frances Phillips Coalson. He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his children, Christopher Coalson (Frances) of Daniels, WV and Rebecca Blankenship (David) of Beckley, WV; his brothers, Kenny Coalson (Susan) of Crab Orchard, WV and Michael Coalson of Beckley, WV.; and his grandchildren, Brooklyn (Carson), Allyson, Charleigh, Lexi and Wyatt.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Teel Apostolic Church (219 Front St, Beckley, WV 25801). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
He was also active in the Fayette County Black Lung Association, advocating for the health and rights of fellow miners.
