He was predeceased by: his father William Akers; and his brothers, Earnest and Mike Akers. He is survived by: his sons, Timothy Akers (Sierra) of Clothier, WV and Jonathan Akers of Clothier, WV; his mother Margret McClure of North Fork, WV; his sister Pamela Bender; and his caregivers, Janie Meadows and Cayla Abrams. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Handley Funeral Home (439 Phipps Ave, Danville, WV 25053). A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
