He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Lee Newman and Harriet Isabelle Smith Newman; his son Leonard William Giles; and his brothers, Bernard Lawson Newman and Bood Mays.
He is survived by: his children, Ronnie Newman, Michael Newman, Paul Newman, David Newman, Timmy Newman, Christina Newman and Dakota Newman; and his siblings, Thomas Leon Newman, Mary Kincaid, Robert Newman, Raymond L. Newman and Dorothy Riley. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Wallace & Wallace.
