He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Bratten Samples and Bessie Hart Samples; and his wife Greta Hanshaw Samples. He is survived by: his children, Robert Samples (Brenda) and Diana Samples-Caudill (Tim); his grandson Nicholas Caudill; his brothers, Lester and Lonnie Samples Jr.; and also Sharon Casto.
