He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie C. Payne and Maggie Myers Payne; his daughter Sharon Margaret Payne; and his granddaughter Janie Sue Carte. He is survived by: his wife Carol J. Payne; his children, Jannis Shaffer (Mike Shaffer), Vanessa Parker (Kevin Parker) and James Walls (Lora); his grandchildren, Tiara, Kayla, Monica, Burgandy, Jade, Riley, Kyleigh and McKenzie; and his great grandchildren, Arielle, Dakota, Khloe and Liam.
