He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Smith and Celia Carpenter Smith; and his sisters, Lula Cottrell, Ethel Duncan, Ruby Godbey, Shelvia Lovejoy and Patty Poole.
He is survived by: his wife Jo Smith; his children, Angie Canterbury (Bob), Jay Smith, Rhonda, Kevin Taylor Kim Chrismon (Connie), Kelly Drake (Gary) and Karla Cobb (Rick); and his siblings, Mary Gibson and David Smith. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
