He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Virgil and Mildred Cottrill Richards; his wife Martha Lee Long Richards; and his brothers, Paul Richards, John B. Richards, William "Virgil" Richards and Junior M. Richards.
He is survived by: his siblings, Virginia E. Cutlip of Clarksburg, Doloris Christy (Paul), Linda Lees of Columbus, OH, Terry Richards of Charleston, WV, Leroy Richards (Marcia) of War, WV, Steve Richards (Debbie) of Clarksburg, Cathy Marie DeHart (Earl "J. R.") of Colonial Heights, VA and Joseph "Michael" Richards (Jeanne) of Clarksburg; and his sisters-in-law, Janice Richards of Petersburg, VA and Karen Richards Allman of Salem, WV.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home (201 Edison St, Nutter Fort, WV 26301). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM. A burial will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Harrison County Humane Society, 2450 Saltwell Road, Shinnston, WV 26431.
