He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Shreves and Agatha Bayless Shreves; his son Eric Shreves; and his sister Deborah Shreves Sprouse. He is survived by: his close friend Shirley Leiva; his children, Bobbi Swiger (Gene) of Adamston, Jennifer Shreves of Adamston, DeLyse Lynet Shreves of Clarksburg and Katherine "Katie" Nicholson (Kahlia Roberts) of Michigan; his stepson Richard Gum; his grandchildren, Derek Thompson, Alec Frazier, Zachary Sandy, Nicholas Sandy, Emeric Melott, Steven Swiger and Jacinda Swiger; and his son-in-law James Melott of Clarksburg. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
