He was predeceased by: his father James Carl Loser; and his grandson Tristen O'Connell. He is survived by: his mother Mary Katherine Nale Byrd; his daughter Melissa O'Connell (Christopher Newbrough); and his grandchildren, Lakyn Curtis and Everliegh Newbrough.

Visitation was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Davis Funeral Home (124 Olen Thomas Dr, Clarksburg, WV 26301). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
