He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleo Merritt and Drema Darlene Ferrell Merritt; and his brother Timothy Merritt. He is survived by: his children, Savannah Merritt (Aaron Crawford) of Clarksburg and Ryan Merritt of Clarksburg; his grandchildren, Ivory Crawford, Elaina Crawford and Sophia Meadows; the mother of his children Lora Holt; and his siblings, Clifford Merritt and Crystal Butcher. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
