She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey Harlan Ray and Georgia Ruth Helmick; her stepfather Roland Helmick; her daughter Cheryl Aponte; and her brothers, Sam Ray and Earl Grimes.
She is survived by: her husband George Eric Adkins; her daughters, LaDonna Williams (David) of Broadway, VA, Becki Minnick (Mark) of McGaheysville, VA and Cindy Turner (Victor) of Capon Bridge, MD; her siblings, Jeanie Wooten, Patty Fox and Dennie Ray; her grandchildren, Chasity Sisler, Nathan Turner, Michael Turner, Faith Williams and Caleb Williams; and her great grandchildren, Colten Brant, Kaden Mayhew and Brinley Turner.
