He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Benjamin and Myrtle M. Phares (Sponaugle); and his brothers, James H. and Richard C. Phares. He is survived by: his wife Alta Rose Phares (Elkins); his children, Georgina Davis (Scott) of Fraziers Bottom, WV, Raymond Edward Phares of Circleville, WV and Michael Phares (Jill) of Fredericksburg, VA; his sister Mary June Bennett of Circleville, WV; his grandchildren, Joshua, Stephen, Adam, Samantha, Austin, Taylor and Ashley; and his great grandchild Macklen.
Memorials may be made to Circleville Volunteer Fire Department or Rescue Squad.
