He was predeceased by: his parent Roy Phares; his daughter Amy Phares; and his brother Robert Phares. He is survived by: his parent Bessie Heavner Phares; his spouse Sharon Jean Carr Phares; his children, Luci Raines, Melinda Sherman, Benjamin Phares of Circleville and Neil Phares; and his sister Ruth Knicley of Harrisonburg.
